I hate that we have to have internet to play now :(

The old Origin app for Mac was not great, but one thing it had going for it was that it worked without internet. 

The Sims 4 has always been my go-to for long car rides and airplane flights, and those are places where internet is usually entirely unavailable. With the new EA app, players are required to have internet to launch the game, which means I need to launch the game while I'm in the airport and then hope that the game doesn't crash while I'm mid-flight. (In-flight wifi doesn't allow me to connect - I've tried).

Of course, the game does have a tendency to crash at the worst possible times, and when it does, I can't re-launch because I don't have internet.

I'm super frustrated, because this game used to work without any internet connection. I, like many others, have spent hundreds of dollars on this game, and it seems unreasonable that I can't access the content, even though it's downloaded to my computer, without wifi. I hope EA has plans to fix this so that the game functions offline the way it used to!

If anyone has tricks for getting around this issue (besides just launching the game while I have wifi) please let me know - I am desperate!! I play on a MacBook if that makes a difference.
