I stopped updating my game

So I stopped buying any packs, kits, or updating my game. The last expansion packs I got were For Rent and Life & Death. I decided to wait for the game to be FIXED before buying anything more.

And then I decided to stop updating my game. I was so tired of having to update my mods all the time to make the game playable.

I am REALLY glad I did that. Now there are all these updates. The game breaks even more after the updates and fixes, and the original save file bug I was waiting to be fixed remains broken.

And now EA is being sold to a human rights violator?

I'm totally done.

Bye bye Sims.

Nope. I'm a millennial, but the limited-time-only SpongeBob stuff still hasn't tempted me enough to update my game. I think I'm giving up on The Sims, with the save file problem existing probably forever, just having too much stuff, and being told not to use the stuff to make it work.

Not to mention the Saudi Arabia takeover, and the news of some project X that will just be regurgitated Sims 4. Yuck.

Just make the Sims 5 with the Sims 2 gameplay and Sims 4 graphics.

The newest expansion pack with Royalty and Legacy looks cool, and the extra kits being given for free is a good idea. But I'm still not going to buy it, even with the time-limited rewards.

I am a long-time Sims player and purchased every Sims expansion pack and kit up to Life and Death. I spent over $1,000 on this game. It wasn't worth it. I'm not sure I would now download the expansion packs and kits I missed, even if they were free.

The game is still broken. Why would I add more to my game when it's already struggling with too much? The Sims team shared these tips for using less and improving the game. Basically, don't use everything you purchased.

Why would I add an expansion pack with pictures and portraits if the photos are still broken and turning black, corrupting saves?

And with the EA buyout, I can't morally buy anything from EA ever again. It is very disappointing. I need more ethical game companies. If Maxis were sold off to another, more ethical company, then I would buy whatever they fixed and put out. But never subscriptions.

Apparently, there is going to be a subscription service? Absolutely not. Subscription services are so predatory and disgusting.

I'm burned out with having to start a new save every time a new pack comes out. I'm burned out with having to update mods to make the game playable.

And the Sims 4 Sims have never been as interesting as Sims from The Sims 2 and 3. The Sims 4 Sims are all too similar and boring. Nothing really happens with the characters the way it did in previous iterations of The Sims. The Sims themselves are empty and just affected by constant moodlets, and glitching. It's so blah. (Which was good in a way because I was so addicted to The Sims 2 and 3 that I could not stop playing, and I CAN stop playing The Sims 4 easily. In older Sims games, I needed to fully play every Sim I made and give them their own lives and families, and their kids' families, and it never ended. But The Sims 4 characters are so empty I don't really care about them. No need to give them full lives, they are empty and don't matter.) The best part of The Sims 4 is the graphics, the building mode, and creating a sim with custom content, which you can just watch on YouTube.

I'm switching to Paralives and Inzoi. I'm trying to decide whether to delete this game from my computer. I'd switch to The Sims 2 and 3, but the graphics don't compare. And they were too addictive.

The broken game, the boring Sims, the buyout to Saudi Arabia...

    I'm just so disappointed.

    What about you?
