Improving the Marketplace: Using Moola as a Budgeting Tool for All Packs
Hi Sims Team,
With the recent launch of the Marketplace, I’d like to suggest expanding the use of Moola to include all DLC—Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs.
At the moment, the system feels a bit fragmented. Moola can be used for Kits, but Expansions require real-world currency. Offering both payment options for all content could create a more consistent and flexible experience.
For many players—especially those who are neurodivergent (such as ADHD) or managing a strict budget—the upfront cost of Expansion Packs can be a barrier. A more flexible system would make it easier to plan and save over time.
My proposal:
Steam-Wallet-Style System: Allow players to purchase small amounts of Moola whenever they have extra funds, effectively “banking” it for future Sims purchases. This would function similarly to a digital wallet and still supports ongoing revenue.
Visual Progress Tracking: Seeing a growing Moola balance in-game can be motivating, particularly for players who benefit from visible progress toward a goal.
Price Parity: Ensure that purchasing content with Moola in smaller increments doesn’t cost more overall than paying upfront. This could be balanced with pricing adjustments or a small incentive for Moola users.
This approach would transform the Marketplace into a helpful budgeting tool rather than just another storefront, making the game more accessible while still aligning with your business goals.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
