I've moved your post to the feedback section as this is currently by design- if both Sims are reborn, the Odd Familiarity buff will be removed.

    That's terrible that its designed that way and really limits the storylines that can be created. I feel like I have seen some sims creators do this same story line and it worked for them. Is there a way to get it back?
