Let us bake a cake off-the-grid!

I am currently playing through a historical challenge and as such my Sims are living off-the-grid. However they are unable to bake cakes in order to age up because cakes are only found under the 'cook' option which you cannot access while off-the-grid unless you are generating power. The only solutions I can think of are to add the cakes to the 'cook off-the-grid' menu, add a special kind of cake that you can only bake off-the-grid (Like how you can only cook the forager's stew off-the-grid), or allow us to generate power without having to use solar panels or wind turbines. Just let us age sims up on their birthdays without having to make them sad or use cheats, please.
