I think it's sad too, that we don't have an option to set boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife if we want to. It's great that they have introduced neutral gender terms too, but i kinda feel that when they removed the option to have other labels - such as the boyfriend/girlfriend etc, they've kinda EXCLUDED many players who want the option of having it gender neutral. I really think they should put in the effort to make it possible to change to what players desire.
I have a vast variety of different sims in my save that i am currently playing (A legacy save where I'm at the 20th gen) - and it makes me sad that i can't change the labels to fit each sim properly. It feels wrong to have my heterosexual sim to see their significant other as, for example, ''spouse'' when I want it to say ''wife''.
Besides, we all have different ideas of what ''partner'' might be. Partner to some might be more established - while being boyfriend/girlfriend are more like dating and 'early phase', if that makes sense.
Anyways, i just think it's wrong of them to exclude the other labels. They want to be inclusive and that's great - but is removing those labels from the players who would want them, really inclusive? Like, they're including the neutral terms, but excluding the ones that are gender neutral. Seems kinda unfair if you ask me :/
And just to be clear; im all for inclusion and want for everyone to feel that they are heard, seen and included - but that doesn't mean that i can find it unfair that the gender neutral labels were taken away. It should be each players personal choice to which label they want to use for their sims.❤️
