Marriages not recognized and romance disabled

Marriage between quite a few of my Sims, those related by marriage or who share a distant ancestor, are not recognized and romantic interactions are disabled. All of these marriages have children, but the game is treating each member as single (i.e. call pop ups re: potential dates when playing in another lot) while recognizing the parentage of the children. I'm not sure if the family tree update was meant to break marriages between distant relatives or spouses of other relatives.

The marriages are not showing up as marriages in the family tree either.

This behavior is occurring both with and without mccc. I do not use other mods. Playing on PC. I have also cleared my caches and no improvement since the February 12th update.

    Somehow, my comment on this thread had gotten linked over to some other family tree complaint which is now marked as fixed. Whatever that problem was is different than this problem. Which, as far as I can tell, it’s not been fixed.

    A further thing I noticed on the First Cousin Once removed that have been unmarried by the update. Their romance bar is still full. And when in bed, they will autonomously cuddle. But the cuddle interaction is not available to me.

    In the same complicated family I’m referencing I have just discovered in another relationship. The game has labeled two male spouses as half brothers. They are absolutely not.

    I have discovered this in one of my SIM families. It is a quite complicated family tree and in one instance there was a marriage between two First Cousins Once removed. Meaning a Sim marrying their cousin’s child. I will note for the record that such marriages are not prohibited in most of the United States. I think only four states have restrictions. The new update has broken this marriage. They are no longer married. The family tree shows no marriage. Even though they’ve already had children. And they cannot have any romantic interactions. Very frustrating. I thought EA had promised this update was not going to break existing relationships. I’m on Xbox
