New free world

I love the Sims 2 (console) biodome! It was my favourite and I still dream about it LOL.

Brazilian, Australian or Caribbean inspired with the idea of the great barrier reef for scuba diving lots, houseboats or a mock houseboat/yacht lot. If Caribbean inspired maybe a Zombie life state (even if temporary) from Haitian inspired culture :)

edit: and I'd love some old Sims 2 attire, guilty of loving that tacky fox shawl with mini dress. I miss the Sims 2 Fisherspooner's "Just Let Go" Simlish version song XD And the Fashion Model career from Sims 2 console, add this to base game!

I'd even just take another Newcrest, but for it to this time be an extension of Oasis Springs.

With the amount of new assets that would have to be created for a new world with its own distinct and unique style, I unfortunately don't see it fitting the budget of a base game update.

Although, when thinking about it further, I could see them possibly getting away with it by simply reusing assets from different DLC. Mix and match them up a bit, and I guess one could create something new. The new windows and doors from a year ago could also provide a possible new look for the pre-made buildings as well (to differentiate from Willow Creek/Oasis Springs).

But what this thread is suggesting is, I'm afraid to say, only possible for an expansion pack. The amount of new animations, modeling, coding, testing, etc. that is required is not in the scope of what has been given out for free.

I don't think they will give a new free world with new gameplay. But I would love a new world with huge beach area and promenade and new beach and sea activities. Maybe a new vacation pack and they give us volleyball, surfing, scuba diving, underwater lots, etc. 

Yeah, i don't think they'd be able to do ALL of this for a base game drop (even though we deserve it for suffering all we do with the game), this are just ideas that they'd really need to cut for a BG world. I mean... apartments and swimmable areas are a MUST and we don't want more US inspired worlds. But if that's a NEED then i coukd accept something missing in Get Famous:  A LA inspired beach city neighborhood (like Magnolia Promenade and Willow Creek).

About new aninations i only see them being need for the surf station or the underwater lot, but they could reuse the snorkeling and mermaid/sim swiming animations.

But the underwater lot isn't a must for me. I'd be satisified with a hidden lot that's an aquatic cave with natural pools and rocks to sit, lay on, etc. that could work for mermaids (and normal sims too). I suggest this as a way for them to apologize themself for making mermaids so poorly and refusing to update them without any extra cost for players.

Inspirations: 1. Moon pool from H2O Just Add Water; 2. The Skull Island cave from Peter Pan; 3. The Kraken cave from Tomb Raider Underworld; 4. The horcrux cave from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I am all for a new free world, but I don't think they would add any new gameplay with it or otherwise do anything wild with it. 

Some beach front property would however be nice. We have very little of that.

I would honestly be happy with any new world that could be offered. I like all of the ideas, as well as reviving some of the older worlds from prior Sims games.

I could see this as a free world, but the underwater gameplay/lots could be with a complimentary EP at the same time. Basically, if you/we get the vacation/hotel/beach living with underwater lots/gameplay EP, the free world has compatible lots as well as the paid world that comes with said EP.

So one that doesn't get the complimentary EP that comes with the free world just gets a beach/coastal world that has high functioning water areas from past packs, but if one does have the complimentary EP they get the extra underwater lots available.
