My opinion

Even though so many people are saying the sims 4 sucks and that ea is greedy, I still love the game. I love it. I know so many people hate it and stuff, but ea (devs) are trying. So ea, if you’re seeing this, know that I still care and love the sims 4. And yes, I do think that some of the prices are ridiculous but I still like the game.

  • I still love the game too. I don’t know that I agree that EA is trying. I would say the devs do try.

I also think people set themselves up for disappointment. The game has been around for how many years? it is what it is, it’s never gonna be something else.

There is a definite difference between the people who spend their lives and career doing the work to create all the games we play and the executives and bean counters whose decisions govern how the game is made.  Simmers especially those who have played the game for a long time understand this so when there is complaint about the game we aren't directing our ire for the most part to the people who do the hard work. We are expressing our disdain for the people who cut the labor force who checked the game before its released, who dumb down concepts and make obvious and foolish omissions, who charge more for less content, who release things before they are ready and who insist upon creating more and more cosmetic items over objects and ideas that give the game more depth or at least more to do.  These are the same people who refuse to go back (except once) and flesh old pack they knew were a little light because it was the right thing to do. So to be clear the Devs are trying, EA is not.

  • I don't know if people hate Sims 4 (but may be a least favourite installment of the Sims franchise) but I definitely see and understand frustration and disappointment. I do think feedback is helpful but it has to come with details, suggestions, etc. But sometimes people just need to rant.

I am a cautiously late starter to Sims 4, so I haven't been around long. I do find mods immensely make up for many short falls, and I didn't need mods in previous installments. So there is some hesitation to this installment. However, with mods and not having overly high expectations—I have really been enjoying Sims 4's EbN (with RoM, CoL, L&D, etc.) and it is giving me reason to give it more of a chance. But I will still give feedback in hopes it helps improve the game.
