How low end/old are these computers they expect to run TS4? I thought jumping to 64 bit meant less shells, not more.
The 64bit upgrade was the biggest joke ever. 32bit apps are limited to 4GB of ram, 64bits are not. All the jump did was allow them to not meet their target specs (<4GB) and ship it out anyway. It just means less work for them. Now they don’t fret about 4GB of ram, but they still have a junk game engine that’s buckling under 30DLCs and a lot of sloppy code so they’re going to continue to be very conservative in what they do. This is why we see a ton of recycled content because it already works, and something new might not workout as quickly or as easily. They made it clear from the beginning they opt to do what is easiest, and cheapest for them regardless of how that impacts the quality of their game.
I agree with you and Imo I feel that the game would need to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch to fully take advantage of 64 bit, sore some things may work well and on the other hand some may not. I felt just because they went 64 bit does not necessarily mean there will be mouth watering features coming to Sims 4. For me it is still the same Sims 4 it has always been.
Yeah, I have not seen any difference at all when they switched to 64-bit, and it looks like they are going to keep going with this game for several more years.
There is such a large difference now if you compare the sims4 to other games that are releasing now on the ps5 and the xbox series x where the games are made by developers and publishers that have a much larger budget where they invest in developing their engines.

Yes, I know, different games...the sims4 have more functions like simulated ai, autonomy, create a sim and build mode for example...still, it makes the game look so old and outdated.
