New idea That can Change Sims 4 gameplay mechanics
I have an amazing and unique suggestion that could make The Sims 4 feel far more alive than ever before. The game would greatly benefit from a deeper political and economic system that introduces long-term, world-level progression and meaningful consequences. Each world could have its own election cycle held once every Sim year, where Sims can register as candidates, campaign, give speeches, debate, and build public influence, while all residents of that world participate in a visible voting process with real-time vote counts. Voting outcomes would be driven by relationships, reputation, influence, traits, and careers rather than randomness, meaning a Sim must maintain good or at least average relationships with citizens to succeed. The winning candidate would become the world’s president or leader for a fixed term, gaining access to exclusive traits, powerful influence-based interactions, higher authority reputation, and special abilities such as proposing or passing policies. These policies could directly affect the world, such as increasing business profits, changing taxes, improving welfare, boosting employment, or triggering public approval or backlash. Alongside this, a fully developed stock market system could significantly enhance the game’s economy by allowing Sims to invest in a list of companies or sectors, each influenced by world events, policies, scandals, and news. Stock values could rise or fall based on political decisions, economic conditions, and major events, creating a dynamic and reactive financial system. The president’s policies would directly influence market performance, allowing politically connected Sims to benefit or suffer from these changes. High-risk mechanics such as insider trading could exist as secret investment options unlocked through rare traits, corruption paths, or hidden perks, introducing scandals, legal consequences, reputation damage, or massive financial rewards. Together, these interconnected political and economic systems would create deeper storytelling, strategic decision-making, and a truly living simulation where Sims’ power, relationships, and choices shape the world around them
