Whether or not some people enjoy them isn't even the point. I just want to be able to opt out of having yet another two icons clogging up my UI, and the pop-ups reminding me that this is going on. Hell, I swear there was a button to opt out of the Reaper event for a hot minute, but then they removed it? I was so grateful when I could dismiss the event. But then it was back and the option to opt out was gone. SIGH.
They keep going in the direction of freeplay games, a genre I don't like at all. I'm someone who paid full price for this game, as it wasn't free for several years post-launch, so that just makes it even more annoying. I literally didn't pay to get a freeplay game experience. At least quit overstepping boundaries, EA, take no for an answer.
Those icons are incredibly annoying in the game whether you're on or offline. I won't spend money on this game until EPs and major bugs are fixed.
