Option to turn off Grief mechanics

I hate the grieving stuff in the game so much. It would be one thing if they were grieving for people they actually hang out with, but they grieve for people they met one time at the park when they were kids 80 days ago! Will there ever be a global option to turn off grief like there is with fame? I can't deal with having my sims grieve for strangers for most of their young adult, adult, and elder lives. It's ridiculous.
