Base game versions of multi-expansion objects
These objects exist in multiple packs and kits, suggesting the base game could handle them. We already had a base-game fire pit added in patch 170 after fire pits had been introduced in multiple packs, so I would like the same to be true for the following categories of object!
Swing Sets
These are basic playground equipment . They were part of the base game of the Sims 2 and the Sims 3; in the Sims 4, however, only the following forms exist:
- Gravity-Powered Swing (Seasons EP)
- 'Swing-A-Lot' Wood Swing (Island Living EP)
- Cozy Little Swing Set (Little Campers Kit)
- Prime of Childhood Swing Set (Growing Together EP, pre-order only)
- Bamco Swing Set (Lovestruck EP)
- Worn Wood Swings (Life and Death EP)
- Frivolous Reverie Swings (Life and Death EP)
- Midsummer Night's Swing (Enchanted by Nature EP)
The animations and code already exist; a nice generic swing-set for the base game would be very nice. I've seen far more IRL homes, both suburban and rural, have swing sets than monkey bars, but monkey bars are base game and swing sets aren't.
Bicycle
These are just a nice, everyday way to get around large neighborhoods and raise fitness skill! They were part of the base game in the Sims 3, but the closest thing we have to "base game" bicycles were limited-time offers:
- Scenic Commuting Bicycle (listed as base game, but pre-order bonus for Cottage Living EP)
- Grim's Cruiser (Reaper's Rewards event)
Every other (adult) bicycle is exclusive to an expansion pack:
- Bicycle...Bicycle! (Discover University EP)
- Full Wood Jacket Bike (Eco Lifestyle EP)
- Mountain Trailblazer (Growing Together EP)
- Cykel Dream Drifter (Businesses and Hobbies EP)
And all six child bicycles are exclusive to the Growing Together EP. A very basic adult bicycle, and maybe if you're feeling nice a child bicycle, would be an excellent addition to the game.
Multi-fish aquariums
There's two categories of aquarium object in the sims 4.
One of these is "fishbowl" type objects. Though only one is a classic bowl shape, they are all 1x1 objects that can be dragged around in Live mode, that can be placed on furniture surfaces, and only hold one fish. Three exist in the base game, and one in an EP:
- Fit4Fish Crystal Fish Bowl (Base Game)
- The Gumber Fesh Bow (Base Game, added during a 2015 challenge event)
- The Boneyard (Base Game, added during a 2015 challenge event)
- My Little Marimo Aquarium (Snowy Escape EP)
That's very nice! No complaints here.
The other is "large tank" type objects. These are 2x1 furniture objects that hold six fish at a time, and tend to have higher motive and decorative bonuses than bowls. They're only found in packs, with no additions to the category since 2017:
- Swimming with the Fishes (Spa Day GP)
- Perfect Private Aquarium (Spa Day GP)
- Sea Plus Aquarium (Dine Out GP)
- Harbor In A Box Aquarium (Cats & Dogs EP)
While the bowl-type is cheaper, more space efficient for small numbers of fish, and doesn't use any water or power utility... the large tanks are great for showing off multiple fish, and are more in line with current ethical standards for aquaculture.
