Please add Ukrainian language

any update about this language as an option in The Sims 4 by any chance?

Hello, The Sims 4 team 

I would like to write on behalf of the Ukrainian community of your game as one of the translators of the game in the form of a mod. Our team "Vedmezhuika" (https://share.google/jyybflsmOcShLqecP)

has been translating the game since 8 August 2022. (https://t.me/thesims4ukrainian). During the war, the Ukrainian community realised that the official translation of the game into Ukrainian would not be possible without effort, so everyone translates packs to their best to be able to play The Sims 4 in Ukrainian. We have already translated 91% of the base game and a few small add-ons, and there is much left, we thank you for creating the game, but we sincerely hope that one day the game will be officially released in the language spoken by millions of people around the world. 

YouTubers from Ukraine who have an EA-partner programme (for example, Kvitneva(https://youtube.com/@kvitneva16?si=l_Jbzrr5J6IFGDvS) also use different translations of the game so that at least part of the game is in Ukrainian.

We are sincerely grateful that the add-ons can be purchased for hryvnias, but I think that one day we will also be able to get the game in our native language and not have to translate the game into Ukrainian unofficially.

I hope someday we will be enjoying game in ukrainian and don't have to translate every single word from foreign. Thank you for listening.

This is all ukrainian translation we have as independent authors, if you can cooperate with them we could all together have all game translated in ukrainian 

This is my favorite game, but I don't have the full basic functionality. I really ask you to add Ukrainian language at least to new versions of the game, we all know that you are currently developing Project X, and we, Ukrainians, really want to have full basic functionality. I bought some DLC for Sims4 in the EA app and intend to buy more. But i am forced to use amateur fan translation in Ukrainian and pay Patreon money for some translations, bypassing the developers. This is inconvenient and frustrating

still playing Sims 4, still without full experience because there is no my language. I am really curious, why do you have polish language while there is less people or +- the same amount of people who use polish language but you don’t have Ukrainian, which is mother tongue for more that 40+ mln people?

What is also weird, that sims language “simlish” was created from different languages including Ukrainian. So it means that EA knows about us but choose to make us invisible still earning from purchases made in our local currency.

It's precisely because The Sims stands for these values, so I ask you formally please, add the Ukrainian localization to the game and the EA app!

​For many years, the Ukrainian community has been a loyal part of the EA family. However, despite our large and active player base, we are still forced to play in foreign languages. Adding Ukrainian is not just a matter of convenience; it's a matter of representation and respect.

First of all, we have a growing and loyal Market. Ukraine has one of the largest and fastest-growing gaming communities in Europe. By adding our language, you would tap into a market of millions of players who are eager to support creators who recognize their identity.

Second of all, the Sims 4 is a game about life. For us, language is the core of our culture and identity. Being able to tell our stories in our mother tongue would make the "Play With Life" experience truly universal and inclusive for us.

And third of all... Historically, many games in our country were only available in Russian... We were forced to play with this language included without a choice! In the current global context, it's more important than ever to distinguish Ukraine as a separate, sovereign cultural entity. Providing Ukrainian localization is a powerful way for EA to show its commitment to ethical gaming and global solidarity. Also localization ensures that all players, including younger audiences and those who may not be fluent in English, can fully understand the complex mechanics, emotional nuances, and humorous descriptions that make The Sims so special.

​The Ukrainian community is ready to support this initiative in any way possible, there are even dozens of volunteers who are ready to translate the game for free!
