@shinjitenoyamiBest you can do is just make sure they aren't constantly "working hard" while at work. click the icon and make them do the "fun / social stuff" while at work for a couple days out of the week. It shouldn't affect job performance all that much.
I don't know if it was because my sim was a perfectionist or what but the default for her at work was always "work hard." Simply changing her work habit to normal and (marine biologist so "play with fish") every few days kept her from getting dazed and burnt out. No seriously. It makes me so mad sometimes I just close the game all together.

I don’t think I read/hear ever that somebody posted/said they like this feature, even the gamechanger from them complain often about burnout and how fast you got the first state of fog. Burnout is again not compatible with a DLC, in this case Parenthood. You don’t even need to try to earn the responsibility trait there and then you sims will always work hard which trigger the burnout feature faster.
In my case I play with 28 days in season. I get always the first state in a week even if I let my sims only work normal because I still finish is daily work task. If I have a painter, I want that he paints home too because it’s his hobby. The same for a programmer. It would a lot less of a pain in the ***** if the moodlests would be tense, then I could just give all me sims carefree.
If you can use mods, I highly suggest bienchen burnouttweaks. I don’t mind such feature as long they don’t get in my way to play and if burnout only trigger rare and if it makes sense. If you don’t want burnouts all together you can use TwistedMexi's Burnout toggle which remove it completely. In vanilla I just don’t recommend GrowingTogether because this feature come with this DLC and its hurts the gameplay too much and you CAN’T toggle it off. The rest is great from this DLC and as long a sims don’t have a job burnout is not a problem.
It needs an On/Off toggle or a Moodlet Solver. It's a frustrating feature and it's not just the effect it has on them, it's the face they pull! Is that face really necessary? I switch from Work Hard about halfway through the day if I remember. But if I forget...they arrive home pulling that face!
Happens mostly when working as a Vet. Very annoying and appeared after Growing Together.
Kind Regards James.
I agree, and my sims don't only get it from "work hard" but also for example when painting. I do know you can be a freelance painter, but when I mean painting as a relaxing hobby, they still get the fog. I highly agree the game should be fun, and not so much 'realistic'. We get enough realistic stuff in our daily life haha.
- @IrisuChan Have you noticed any Burnout with any of the Jungle Adventure tasks? I haven't done any authentication work, etc since I added Growing Together and I'm really hoping it's not affected by Burnout 🤞.
- LadyAofPineapple2 years agoSeasoned Ace@IrisuChan Unfortunately, there are two types of player "camps": those who want realism (almost to the point of wanting grass to grow just so they can cut it), and simmers like you and I who just want to escape for a few hours at a time, lol.
I feel like that's why I like this forum so much, the relaxed players seem to be more prevalent here, and the angry realists are mostly over on eX-Twitter, lol.
(PS anyone reading this, PLEASE don't hate me, I'm joking around and I can understand both types of players! I just don't get the hate towards the game.) - LadyAofPineapple2 years agoSeasoned Ace@simsplayer818 Is it a creative type task, or mental? From what I gather, creative solves burnout, while mental type tasks add to it. I haven't played much with the Jungle Adventure tasks yet so I'm not sure myself (although I did put Lara Croft in my game for this purpose, lol).
@LadyAofPineapplethere are a few elements to the archaeology aspect of the pack. There's the excavation and then the analysis of Omiscan Artifacts. It's physical and mental I suppose, it definitely drains their fun but I hope they don't get burnout too, I've got 2 Jungle Adventure explorers to add soon.
Edit: it does indeed affect the Jungle Adventure pack. It doesn't seem to happen when excavating dig sites but it does affect authentication of Artifacts. So all I'm doing to limit it is to just do the dirt clump stage then stop the process halfway once the artifact is out of the dirt clump and then send the item off for analysis.
Unfortunately it means my Sim can't work from home analysing artifacts through the mail like she used to and she also can't use this method for skill gain either. How disappointing. It's really spoiling the game now. We need a way to mitigate the effects or we're losing important parts of the game. There is no upside to this feature at all.
