Preteens need to be in The Sims 4 SOON

Hey guys! As a preteen myself, I am dissatisfied with the fact that there are no pre-teens. I either have to make myself look 8 or 17. So here is my idea for preteens:

Height: They could have a height in between children and teens, aka 5'2.

Body: Men could have a less muscular physique, while girls could have smaller breasts than teens. They both would have rounded facial features in comparison to teens but still have more mature faces than kids.

Romance: Obviously, preteens have limited romance. Here are the interactions they CAN do:

  • First Kiss
  • Ask to be romantic partner
  • Offer rose
  • Kiss hands
  • Kiss cheek
  • Embrace
  • Flirt
  • Compliment Appearance
  • Give romantic gift
  • Ask to be romantic partner
  • Pick-Up Line
  • Flirtatious Joke
  • Hold Hands
  • Blow A Kiss
  • Offer/Receive Massage

BTW, Preteens can only date other preteens.

Cooking: Preteen sims can usually cook these 3 meals:

  • Garden Salad
  • Chips and Salsa
  • Poke Bowl

That is, unless they assist an older sim (Teen-Elder) in cooking. Then perhaps they can cook real meals.

Babysitting: Preteens can babysit younger siblings (Newborn-Child) while parents are away. they might even get paid up to 100 simoleons!

School: As preteens do, they will attend middle school. You can, of course, follow them, like you can teens in HSY. Their homework is a red medium sized notebook.

Puberty: On the 1st day of being a Preteen, they will start puberty, in which they will develop acne, body odor, and have voice cracks. Use acne cream to end acne and deodorant to stop BO. Voice cracks can't be stopped, so don't try to! If you have parenthood installed, preteens will also have mood swings, like teens, except more frequently.

I hope EA can see this and maybe add preteens to the game. Thank you for reading and reply to give me advice or state YOUR opinion. Either way, I'd be happy to receive a message. 😃

yes to both of them, at least the age gap doesn't change much just like in real life👍

teens looks like adults and you can't do much once your sim change into an elder so there should be a lifestage which is a mix of adult and elder and even the gameplay is a mix of the 2 (same with preteens, it can have a mix of the 2 the child can do and some things teens can do once you turn into a preteen)

agreed, i dislikes the big age gap so there should be a lifestage between child and teenager so a preteen makes more sense this way

I always felt a child going up to a teenager seems a bit of a jumping age from 9 to 18 or something like that I thought it’d be good to introduce preteens 12 to 13 year age puberty starting changes in behaviour it seems like a good opportunity not to miss out on

  • I would, at some point, love to see preteens added to the game much like infants were. I don’t know about anyone else, but it bugs me that my child ages from looking like they’re 10 to 20 real fast😭 I feel like preteens, with the exception that they go to middle school/junior high, could be amazing & a fun experience (so long that there isn’t bugs that is). I feel like it would bring a lot of realism to the sims like highschool years & growing together did, even if more about preteens had to also have a pack like the ones I stated (though imo it should mainly be base game ).

Before anyone shoots this down, yes I know that there’s CC for preteens, but I’m one of many console players for the sims and I bet a lot of us would enjoy it if we had preteens without having to switch over to desktop, especially because not everything is transferable from xbox to desktop.

I would like a tween Life Stage maybe even with a pack as well, as well I was thinking for CAS like the rainbow core that they had but lost do Gothic kit they can bring that back but I would like to incorporate that style with all the ages in CAS also have some Lisa Frank inspired CAS and BB, I do like the first crush even when they get older call it childhood crush. I would like them to experience puberty like voice crack, moodlets like waking up developed in places, moody more then teens because they are first starting out with puberty. They can do things that kids can't do like play basketball, cook little things, hang out in the Jacuzzi, exercise,  but still play void critters, the playground, activity table. Talk on the phone to friends, Also have Social Bunny.

  • Now that we’ve had infants for awhile, it’s starting to feel a little weird that there are so many early life stages, but after your sim ages up from child, they go straight to teen… which looks and behaves EXACTLY as adults do, with a small handful of exceptions depending on which packs you have. Children in the Sims 4 appear to be around 8-10 years old. So, for a sim like that to age up and suddenly look like an adult, maybe 17 at youngest, it just feels bizarre. It reminds me of when newborn babies used to jump out of the bassinet as children, long ago when we didn’t even have toddlers yet. There are some simple mods that will make teens shorter than adults, or add a couple gameplay mechanics, but it isn’t the same as a fully-fleshed life stage.

Picture this—a new tween life stage, released alongside a simple pack! Similarly to how infants were released next to Growing Together, I think it would make sense to give tweens their own pack. Tweens should experience similar problems to what teens have in High School Years and Growing Together (puberty, phases, mood swings and such), but there are some things that would make more sense for a younger teen to experience. A pack may include things like first crush, growth pains, new hobbies, and of course—middle school! I could also imagine there being a new online school mechanic, since it may too be repetitive to do a pack so similar to High School Years. In this case, instead of a full EP with a new world and middle school lot, there could be a tween-centric online school GP.  Of course, online school would be an option for school-goers of all ages, and tweens would attend regular middle school by default.

Tweens could have a relatively similar frame to teens/adults, but it would be preferable if they had a unique frame and clothes. Conversions for certain clothing items (such as from High School Years) would be nice but not a necessity. Basically, it would be best if they had clothes that were just for them, to best suit the tween life stage. If possible, it would be nice if tweens had more options for body customization than children, but of course it’d be difficult for sim genetic reasons, so I realize that’s a tall ask.

All of these are just suggestions. To be honest, any new life stage between child and teen would be a blessing in and of itself, since it’s always been frustrating to me that teens are so similar to adults. I just think it would be nice to get some extra stuff too! If anybody has any other ideas for things to incorporate into a tween pack, I’d love to talk about it.

  • I agree with you to infinity and beyond I wanted a preteen Lifestage introduced to the Sims Franchise ever since I was a teen playing the Sims 2, like you I was introducing my niece to the Sims she wanted to make herself in CAS and she couldn't the child look to young and the teens looked to old and she disappointed she couldn't make herself as a sim.

Another good idea is Preteens can still play void critters and play on the playground, play basketball, wash clothes in the washing bin, fight with both child and teens also "borrow" teens things because why not? And the mood swings to the max stomp up the stairs, slam doors, talk back to adults, be more aware of appearance then you were as a child.
