Proposal for a New Active Career and Skill: "The Royal Servant" and "Weaving"

Hello, I am a huge fan and player of The Sims 4.

I would like to propose an idea for a new career and skill that could add incredible storytelling depth to the game, especially fitting for royal or historical gameplay themes.

My proposal is the "Royal Servant" career and the "Weaving" skill. This wouldn't just be a rabbit-hole career, but an Active Career where the player can directly influence a family's rise or downfall.

Here are the details of my idea:

New Active Career: The Royal Servant

This career works best as an Active Career (similar to the Get to Work expansion pack), where you follow your Sim to their workplace.

Workplace: The assigned Noble/Royal family's lot.

Core Mechanic: The Trust system. As your Sim builds trust with the family members, they gain access to more restricted rooms and deeper secrets.

Career Levels & Progression:

It starts with menial chores, but eventually, your Sim can become the hidden power behind the family.

Levels 1-3: The Drudge

Main Tasks: Mopping floors, gardening, doing laundry, assisting with meals.

Special Interactions: 'Sneak past carefully', 'Eavesdrop on employers'.

Levels 4-6: Personal Attendant

Main Tasks: Attending to specific Sims, delivering letters, greeting visitors, childcare.

Special Interactions: 'Deliver secret letter', 'Overhear scandals', 'Provide an alibi'.

Unlocks: Access to the employer's bedroom or private study.

Levels 7-9: Head Butler / Keeper of Secrets

Main Tasks: Managing household funds, hosting banquets, supervising other servants.

Special Interactions: 'Blackmail with family secrets', 'Hold the vault key', 'Create a slush fund'.

Level 10: The Shadow Ruler (Branching Path)

At this stage, players must choose a path: [Loyalist] or [Traitor].

Gameplay Branches: Deciding the Family's Fate

An "Influence System" where the player's choices decide the destiny of the noble house.

Path A: The Loyal Guardian

Goal: Rebuild and protect a struggling noble family.

Gameplay Options: Spread malicious rumors about rival families, discipline the employer's unruly children, and help increase the family's wealth.

Ultimate Reward: 'Honorary Family Member' trait (Your Sim can share the family wealth and is treated as true family).

Path B: The Ruin Bringer

Goal: Destroy the family from the inside to steal their wealth or get revenge.

Gameplay Options: Tip off rivals/paparazzi about the employer's affairs, smuggle family heirlooms to the black market, manipulate the children to run away, or spike their food with 'suspicious powder'.

Ultimate Reward: 'The Black Hand' trait (Instantly discover other Sims' weaknesses and have a 100% success rate on blackmail).

New Skill: Weaving

To complement this, I recommend a new "Weaving" skill. It is more classical and artistic than the existing Knitting skill and serves as a great side income for servants.

Required Item: A classical Loom.

Level Unlocks:

Lv 1-3: Rough cloth, dishcloths, bath mats (can be used for cleaning).

Lv 4-6: Curtains, tablecloths, children's clothes (Requires Llama wool or cotton).

Lv 7-9: Noble dresses, tapestries featuring the family crest.

Lv 10 (Masterpiece): 'Tapestry of Fate'.

Hanging this masterpiece allows the player to manipulate the emotional aura of the room (e.g., Sims viewing it will suddenly become Sad, Flirty, or Angry depending on the weave).

I believe these additions would offer players an entirely new way to roleplay and tell dramatic stories within The Sims 4. Thank you for considering my suggestion!
