I'm not sure
- a big part of the community is introvert and has probably no wish to meet people IRL
- Once again it excludes players who can't afford a travel to US
- Money and time spent in meetup isn't use to develop properly packs
- It targets a specific range of "die-hard" fans who already buy everything blindly
Actually without doing anything the community and profits grow every year despite 11 years of bad reputation for The Sims 4.
I think EA has stopped to organize EA Play Live Event (replacing E3) because it was a waste of money without real benefits.
Personally I feel valued each time my ideas become real in the game, it shows me Maxis read our feedback so that is enough for me.
I understand that not everyone is a fan of meeting people in real life, but many folks do enjoy it. And honestly, if there were a Simmers meetup near me, my granddaughters might just drag me to it!
Travel can be expensive, which is why the goal is to have many small, local meetups worldwide—not just in the US. These small gatherings make it easier for fans to participate without a significant expense.
I believe the game and the community would benefit greatly from the investment in connecting players more directly. Simmers are incredibly creative and full of ideas, and they have a lot to share. Building a stronger, more connected community can only enhance the experience for everyone involved.
