QoL feedback: Dark Mode For UI

I don't visit these forums very often. I sit in my lil corner and play my sims happily. Having gray eyes that are light sensitive to begin with as well as recently diagnosed with cataracts, a dark mode would appreciated. Honestly, it really should not have to be something we "mod" in 😒. I find it sad that something this simple is not readily available for those who need it for conditions much more severe than mine. I certainly cannot be the only one who would love to see this QoL addition to the game.

Warmest regards,

I agree! I deal with migraines and frequently have a heightened light sensitivity. I set things to dark mode whenever possible. Even if it was something simple like allowing us to change the color of the UI in general, that would be an improvement.

  • I completely agree. The worst part is that when opening The Sims 4, the white screen flash is quite jarring. I find it disappointing from a user experience perspective.

In 2025, while The Sims 4 showcases characters with diverse traits, sometimes linked to real disabilities, having so few accessibility features is surprising. It feels more like a commercial decision than a genuine effort.

  • I agree I'd like all sites to have dark modes, not just this one. I've got sensitive eyes and sometimes here we need to give quite long replies and also read a lot of other replies, it can be a little jarring. I've left a few threads behind that get loads of replies because catching up can mean a lot of reading white screens.

It's been worse for me when wearing contacts. The white background is very bright although the forum looks really good. I use my mobile, I've lowered the brightness and have everything else in dark mode.🤓
