Great ideas from Hen. 👏👏

In fact, I am currently making a "2 up/2 down" lot (lots of them in the UK) & I put a washer under a counter. The visual glitch was really annoying, so I scaled the washer down. I haven't play tested yet, hope it'll work. In any case, it's not a great look cause we see the counter/washer mixed.
