This recent "dynamic lighting" update already gave us way too reflective floors. It looks like cheap wood freshly waxed, even on stone!! It's not realistic, for the most part. As for countertops, what's shiny except marble and freshly cleaned granite? Anyway, it all hurts my eyes.
Furthermore, neither ray tracing nor DirectX12 will bring Sims 4 up-to-date. It won't fix the grass texture, poly count or giant toylike chairs, but it will make certain elements seem even more out of place next to sad base game elements, such as these. The devs should focus much more on gameplay improvement, although I desperately want the grass enhanced.
Possibly the only thing that can fix most issues is a GOOD Sims 5 (whether or not we'll get it). That's what I really want, because I doubt they can truly fix certain base game elements, though I wish they would. E.G., WHERE IS CREATE-A-WORLD?! I need it! (But with better visuals and 64 bits.)
On a figuratively brighter note, I just today noticed the water reflections next to Myshuno Meadows look very good, as is.

Oh, wow, I just noticed that the default grass underneath Myshuno Meadows is very shiny now, too!! THE GRASS!
