Sims 4: Please add more life stages

I would love to add 4 more life stages (in capital letters):

Newborn -  Infant - Toddler - PRESCHOOLER - Child - TWEEN - Teen - Young Adult - Adult - MIDDLE AGED - Elder - OLD  (or a better name for someone who is older than elder)

I feel the jumps from toddler to child and from child to teenager are too big. We have gotten more baby ages (that I love) that it only seems fitting we get a couple more child ages.

I would also like two more adult ages: ”Middle aged” and ”Old”. Because you are an Adult for a very long time, and we already have ”Midlife crisis” in the game. The Middle aged Sim could just have more wrinkles than Adult.

I really want the ”Old” age because I want to be able to make great grandparents as well. Love making big families with large family trees. And it seems silly that the Elder Sim has some backpain and then it’s time to die.

The Old Sim should need a cane, walker or wheelchair. And have more health issues than Elder, that older people usually get. They get more confused, have memory loss, have lesser hearing (the Sims need to speak louder/clearer to them) and eye sight (you can help by reading for them for example).

These life stages could be introduced via Exapansion Packs. Would love a Daycare center for young children and a Retirement Home for the elderly.

I would especially like to see a preteen life stage. More adult life stages would be meaningless without some sort of distinction between them. There’s already hardly any discernible difference between YA and Adult, neither in appearance nor interactions

  • Tween and Middle Aged are quite intriguing, so much you can do with those

I'm likely in the minority on this, but I feel like kids (newborn through teen) have enough life stages already. Five, to be exact. Young adults and above only have three stages.

I think the problem is not necessarily that we don't have preteens, which is a tiny window of time in the childhood age range and can at least be approximated with the child stage we have. It's that teens look like young adults. If they were shorter and looked younger than YAs, we probably wouldn't have all these calls for preteens. But, there's no going back to fix teens now. I live with it by styling my teens differently from adults so that they at least look distinct. I rarely put makeup on them, for instance, because it makes them look older.

IMO, the biggest gap that remains to be filled is between adult and elder. The transition between them is too abrupt. Middle age is what we need now. But, I doubt they will be adding any more life stages to the game at this point.

  • I wish we had 3 micro stages for each current life stage so they could be filled with changes that leads to the next big life stage, exactly how happens in real life.

Like, imagine the first kids stage having them being more immature like babies, the second one having them being like they already are and the third one introducing puberty (acne, body hair, etc.), leading directly to teenage years. I think the only life stages that wouldn't fit those are the newborn and infants since they already seem like micro stages.

  • Hex Yeah I'm all for this especially Tween and Middle ages Sims I call it the in between lifestage like for me the lifestage should be

    Newborn

    Infant

    Toddler

    Child

    Tween

    Teen

    YA

    A

    Middle Aged

    Elder

We need tweens because the jump between kid and teen never set well with me even back when it was Sims 2. I always felt we needed a preteen stage now when Sims 3 came out I thought we needed a middle aged but now really in Sims 4 because they made the elders older in this version then previous game. Like they can't do much are they'll die of over excursions like... what I can't make a sugar daddy/momma because they gone die unless I have a mod but I don't trusts mods lol.

Well, a toddler is a preschooler, at least where I live in the USA. So that would be a pointless addition. Preschool is age 3 to 4 (sometimes 5), which is covered if you play a toddler enough to gain levels 4 and 5 in skills.

While I understand the want for preteen, you can also do that via gameplay by keeping attention to the age in days. Child gets 13/14 days. What I do is dress them more child-like with clothing selections for week 1. During week 2 they should have skills high enough to appear older and you can dress them to look older with certain clothing selections. You can also make a teen appear younger with clothing choices and gameplay, which can help with the illusion of young teen versus an older teen.

Adult stage is the middle age lifestage, especially if you can pay attention to the days of the lifestage, which is 42. I also do that through gameplay, the same as I do with the previous two lifestages mentioned in my comment.

I use the in-game calendar to help me. I set up a "holiday" reminder without any traditions. Then on the morning of that reminder I do the changes in CAS for the illusion. Most times the gameplay I do is in the pace to get their skills match the illusion.

More lifestages is only going to "replace" significant gameplay. At least that is my opinion on this subject. Btw, I use the normal lifespan for my descriptions above.
