Sims smarter but less autonomous?
Has anyone else noticed that Sims seem significantly less lively since the recent update?
Before the update, my Sims were much more independent. They would autonomously initiate conversations, flirt with one another, socialize, and perform activities that seemed influenced by their individual personalities and traits. It made the game feel alive because I could watch relationships and interactions develop naturally without constantly directing them.
Since the update, I’ve noticed a significant decrease in this behavior.
Now, my Sims primarily take care of their basic needs and read books. They’ll occasionally talk to one another, but the spontaneous conversations, romantic interactions, and personality-driven behaviors that were previously common seem to have almost disappeared.
Even Sims who are already romantically involved seem much less likely to initiate affection or flirtation independently.
I personally noticed this change almost immediately after updating.
One of the biggest appeals of The Sims 4 is watching Sims make their own decisions based on their personalities, relationships, and emotions. Without that spontaneity, the gameplay feels noticeably more repetitive and less engaging.
I’m concerned that recent adjustments to autonomy may have unintentionally reduced these behaviors too much.
I’d really appreciate it if the development team could investigate whether autonomous social, romantic, and personality-driven interactions have been negatively affected by the update.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’d love to know whether other players have noticed the same change.
