Some conflicting Traits not working both ways

Some traits are only conflicting if one of them is chosen first. These are the ones I found:

If you choose Gloomy and/or Loner first, you can also pick Party Animal. But if you pick Party Animal first, you cannot choose Gloomy or Loner.

If you choose Squeamish and/or Lazy first, you can also pick Rancher. But if you pick Rancher first, you cannot choose Squeamish or Lazy.

If you choose Lazy first, you can also pick Overachiever. But if you pick Overachiever first, you cannot choose Lazy.

  • This is good to know.

If I want a Sim to be gloomy and socially awkward I pick traits that don't conflict like life of the party or any other trait that would conflict with a gloomy Sim.

This is also the same for addressing likes to a Sim in game.

You can't have a foodie sim that hates cooking if you want that Sim to explore the culinary wonders in this game.

Edit: I think the trait system works best by picking just a few similar traits( 1-3) to see a change in your sims behavior. I avoid likes and dislike after pick my non-conflicting traits..

I need to know what the Sim truly likes and dislike from the traits that I pick for them.

I let the game play out their likes/dislikes after traits are picked. If the sim is not displaying the traits then I adjust them accordingly.
