Soul's Journey progresses too quickly.

Once my Sim reached Young Adult I was finally able to start a Bucket List and have some additional goals to work on. Within about two days, he had already completed this first stage without even touching his Bucket List. Just completed a couple of wants and some aspiration goals. At this rate, he'll be done with his Soul's Journey before he's even an adult!

When I created his family, his parents started as adults and they had completed their Soul's Journey within about two in game weeks. Once they reached "Dreams Fulfilled" they can't even do a Bucket List anymore, and everything that was on their list was removed. I wasn't even playing his parents much, just casually taking care of their needs and doing a couple of wants here and there. If I focused on them more, I probably would have completed their Soul's Journey sooner.

The Bucket List is one of my favorite new features, but I was really hoping it would last a Sim's entire life not just two weeks. I literally had to Google to see if there was a cheat to reset the progress so I didn't complete it too quickly and lose my Bucket List. I'm playing on normal lifespan.

  • Yeah. The fact that normal aspiration achievements work for ranks in soul's journey sort of takes away from it. If the souls journey could replace the old lifetime aspiration system I would prefer it, all my sims end up doing the same lifetime aspirations, like if you're going to get a job or grow a garden might as well get the aspiration rewards for fortune and gardening. The bucket list goals are at least unique for each sim, and if there's at least one long-term Item on the bucket list that makes for a better lifetime aspiration than the old ones (like I had a sim who wanted to make a servo, which would be a good lifetime goal, but of course he finished souls journey with the boring old aspirations, or going to the park for an hour on the bucket list, or I think the haunted house from Paranormal filled it, because you get points at the end of each night) and one of those long term goals should be required for finishing the list.

  • The soul's journey being so easy makes this feature basically the opposite of fun.

I played on short lifespan, my Sim did not progress in their aspiration very much, I did not complete a lot of wants, I waited for the game to generate bucket list items and even held off on finishing some of them, because I didn't want it to be done so early. But even with me trying so hard to not rush it, the soul's journey was done when my Sim was only an adult for a short time.

There is absolutely no challenge at all which is ridiculous. I can't even imagine how it must be for people who play on normal or even long lifespan.
