@EowynCarterI'm playing, but less than I used to and although these recent bug fixes are a good gesture, it doesn't make up for the fact that we are asking to be treated as valued customers, not numbered ATMs.
I read the reddit thread but it is now locked so I couldn't add any thoughts to it. At the least, the history is there so maybe EA will read it anyway?
For your support question, here is what I've found: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/using-ea-help/
I'll keep looking, though, because it sure does feel like we're shouting into a void here sometimes. - EowynCarter2 years agoSeasoned Ace
So?
Still no news?
No even an answer?

I actually made a rant post not too long ago how The Sims 4 has been awful this year, which included the implementation of the shopping cart icon that no one asked for.
To be honest, the only reason I'm even still playing The Sims 4 is to get my unfinished projects done. I had to put these off for a long time because of the ceiling being an eyesore. Yes, they're gonna be fixing it in the next update, but waiting 8 weeks just for the ceiling to be fixed is ridiculous, especially for players like me who take thousands of screenshots. I've actually taken over 50,000 in the past 2 years (I started playing The Sims 4 in May 2022). One thing I did though, which was a last resort, was make a big empty room over the house, as the houses I typically make are basically 1-bedroom apartment style houses, just to make the ceiling look normal so I can take the screenshots that I need to. I typically only take screenshots within the house and this big empty room overtop isn't noticeable anyway, so it does at least help with me getting my projects done.
After I'm done my projects though, I'm gonna be retiring The Sims 4 completely, because dealing with The Sims 4 means dealing with constant creep of updates that always seem to break something. The Sims 4 is good when it works, until it doesn't...

Hello, EA.
Is there anymore here ??
- ClumpyExpert1612 years agoNot applicable
We don't pay hundreds of dollars buying DLC just to get ads in your game. I'm not going to spend another cent until that button gets removed! And also having to see ads in the Menu... I don't care how I look writing this, but EA YOU ARE DISGUSTING and GREEDY, and I'm not going to buy Sims 5 or ANYTHING from you anymore. 💔

It's gone full-screen now, because why not?! 🥳

@Sejian Good thing I got my projects done before this happened!

Hello, long time Sims player here. First of all, I love the Sims! Only thing is, since free-play has been available, the ads have been quite aggressive for those of us who have purchased the full product. Is there any way that a toggle switch can be made available to disable ads for that product? So, for example, if I purchased Eco Life, can there be a toggle switch that makes it so I do not see ads for Eco Life? To be honest, I would prefer to not see ads at all, because I have purchased everything but the kits and one stuff pack, all of which I fully intend on purchasing in the future but I won't keep purchasing products if I just keep seeing ads, I don't feel that is fair to me as someone who has spent hundred, if not thousands on the Sims franchise. Because it takes away from an experience I invested in. I am willing to work with a toggle switch, for packs I do not own but in that event, I would prefer something that is cute and says "Hey, don't' forget about me" rather then a big box I have to close out of. You already have the notification in Gameplay. So, maybe stick with that, customized "featured packs" on log in and the toggle switch. That would be better for this customer. I appreciate the time you took in reading this.

Played like 30 min to do the event quest.
Two pop up, 4 notifications...
STOP !!!
I did not bought the last packs because of the ads.. Forcing some more ads is NOT going to make me buy new stuff. Quite the contrary.
Here's a challenge : don't advertise to me for one month, and i'll consider buying stuff again. While i'm harassed by ads when stating the game, not spending one more cent on it.

It's become excessive now. I've been playing the game a bit today and every time I went to the main menu, EVERY time, I get two full screen ads thrown at me back to back. Now i know it only take a second to close them but getting ads thrown at me is getting a bit too much especially now that they are full screen.
So if the amount of ads and the amount of times they show up can be drastically reduced that would be great. Starting to feel like a mobile game.

Agreed, and it is not just this game either. It is everywhere. We get bombarded so much with advertisements in our current times, that it only creates more resentment. Game time needs to be an escape from advertisements.
- cebmarin1 year agoSeasoned Ace
true I only miss 2 stuff packs, 2 game packs and 2 kits. I don't wanna see constant ads. I already bought almost entire dlcs.

Full-screen ads in the main menu of The Sims 4 have become a nightmare. Every day, when I open the game, I have to deal with the pack promotion ad, as well as the event ad (which I have already completed). The situation has reached such a critical point that players are starting to create mods to get rid of them. Many players on social media are complaining about this. The experience in the main menu has become tiring and very intrusive, and I think you need to do something about it.

Just restarted the game, two pop up, two notification, then the cart button..
Want me to but the DLC ? Make sure I want to play the game so I have a motivation to buy more content for it, don't disgust me from it.
Come on EA !

I get confused every time there's a UI update for the homepage. I don't like the ads and recommended packs (which is basically anything). I think it recommended me a pack I already had once too. Still does it with the sleek bathroom kit which I already have too... but maybe that's a permanent ad for showing that it's new. I also agree that it would be nice not to have ads since we already pay for all the DLC. I still do like that there is a store tab though to see if there's a sale and what packs I don't have ...which have come out new.
- EowynCarter1 year agoSeasoned Ace
i think the cart button did advertise stuff i already had.
I can hardly remember, I goes to "angry modlet" mode, and just close the pop up / dismiss the notification as fast I can.

I am no longer willing to play or purchase anything from EA games until the in-game advertising stops. I have played Sims since the first game in the franchise began. I have purchased almost every single pack for each version of the game, yet I am constantly prompted in-game to purchase the 2 packs that I have decided not to purchase. This is unacceptable advertising and should be stopped. I hope it does because I would like to continue to play.
- cebmarin1 year agoSeasoned Ace
true its so annoying I almost have all packs and I dont wanna see ads for packs that I wont buy constantly
- layschips00771 year agoRising Novice
completely agree, they've become so insanely greedy

I booted up The Sims 4 today and had to click through 2 full screen ads before I could choose to resume my game. Once I loaded my game, I got a shiny cart notification at the top screen, effectively amounting to another ad.
By this point, I have spent hundreds of dollars on this game. You don't need to squeeze more out of me with ads. If you're hurting for cash, stop paying your CEO so much instead of making your game actively worse for people to play.
If you absolutely must preserve the excessive ads, consider reducing them so they only show up for players that haven't spent any money on the game. You're a business; you need to make money. I get it. But you're making your product user-hostile at this point, and it feels gross.

The ceo point is so real

Since Sims 1 I've purchased almost every add-on. Sometimes not right away because I want to enjoy one at a time. I just had ChatGPT total the transactions I have directly with EA starting from 2008 and that was $950, and that doesn't include the packs I've picked up at stores.
I stopped playing for 7 months and just came back again. This is the first time I just don't want to play or buy anything anymore and it's all thanks to your incredibly annoying ads. I've spend so much money on this game and it pisses me off to no end that after all of that it doesn't matter.. we're given this s**ty experience. I should be given an option to turn off these ads. I don't want whatever event you are using to advertize this pack in game. I just want the games i've purchased so far. When it's time for me to add that expansion I will.
I know the base game is free, but you are now treating the people who have literally given you thousands dollars like we're the ones who are playing the free base game.Honestly, I think this has annoyed me enough to not buy another product until something changes. I'm done. I might play the older games for nostagia. Sims 2 was the best out of all of them tbh.. (the animations have just gotten lazy over the years you don't even have cars pick up your Sims anymore.. whats with that?).
Anyway, I'm putting this out there incase there are others like me who are just feed up with paying for content and getting ADs & a terrible experience in return.

ChatGPT isn't a calculator, it's a text predictor with excessive publicity. :/
That said, agreed- absolutely nobody wants in-game ads. I avoid letting the game connect to the internet unless I really need to use the Gallery so I don't have to see them, but even then I need a mod just to remove the stupid shopping cart button.
- EowynCarter1 year agoSeasoned Ace
Yeah, pretty much stopped playing and buying stuff because of that. Cart button was the last straw. Want me to buy stuff, make the game fun to play, stop annoying me with pop ups and notification. It don’t make me want to buy stuff, it made me drop the game. Now waiting for paralive see if it can do.

I don't know of any other game or service that bombards you with ads despite buying everything available or paying the highest amount possible for a service.
People shouldn't receive ads for things they already own inside of the thing that they own (I know we don't technically own the packs, but still).
It just feels disrespectful and like you don't value your customers at all.
If you insist on in-game ads can you please just make them for packs we haven't purchased?
