This turned into a longer spiel than I expected, but this is important!
I've thought for a long time that it would be a great decision for the sims team to include more physical disability representation i.e. wheelchairs, canes and walkers (not just for elders!!!), braces, etc. I'm sure I'm not the first to recommend disability representation, but it would add so much to in-game immersion and would make so many people happy to see a positive portrayal of physical disabilities.
It would also be cool to include injuries like broken bones, stress fractures, pulled muscles, or even injuries as small as a papercut. Injuries as inconsequential as a papercut could even just cause an Ouch! moodlet that lasts for a short amount of time, triggered by using the kids crafting tables, reading, etc. for too long. Other injuries would also trigger reactions that make sense based on their severity.
People with Get To Work can have their sims go to the hospital for their injuries, which could expand the doctor career (Full disclosure: I have never played with the hospital or doctor career so I looked up if this was a thing and didn't find anything, but it's possible I missed something).
I would also love to see ramps added as a build mode feature, maybe piggybacking off of how stairs are made (though the ramps could obviously not be so steep-ADA code dictates that ramps must not exceed a slope of 1:20). I'm an interior designer, so I get very nerdy about building codes and safety and accessibility standards, which is why I believe that it is so important to include in the game. I know a lot of simmers currently use roofing pieces to make pretend ramps (usually for driveways into fake garages), but these "ramps" are non-functional obviously. So, the ramps could also piggyback off of roofing controls, or even terrain manipulation tools. I'm clearly not a video game developer, but I'm sure there is a way to make this happen!
It goes without saying that cognitive, intellectual, or developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, or even vision and hearing impairments would be incredible additions, but I can't even imagine how this would be done in-game. I'm sure there are some awesome mods out there though (TS4 modders are literal geniuses).
Also, PLEASE do not make this a DLC of any sort, because I am 99.99% sure it would not be well received by the community to have to pay for disability representation.
I'd love to hear what other people think about this or if you have anything to add! :)
