@Vyo4 you can do something like this while you're in CAS by going into Game Options>Music and playing samples that way.
I had no idea what some of the music genres were to be honest. But I've found I really love Focus and Japanese Folk. My Sims often have one of those on in the background. They're very relaxing.
@simsplayer818, nice tip. Consider, however, that most players (especially new) wouldn't know to sidetrack and take the extra steps into Game Options for Music samples. Maybe a helpful compromise is to create a tooltip hover on the Music Likes/Dislikes section that directs players to Game Options. There is already a tooltip for Likes/Dislikes, could just slide another one beside it for the Music section. Personally, I would prefer to simply play a short sampling of the Music genre when selecting Like/Dislike = Less steps, more player convenience.

@Vyo4 yeah with new players in mind maybe they could also add the suggestion to the in game guidance system/tutorials too 🤔. Emily could direct new players to where to play music samples when setting likes/dislikes. She could ask a player if they'd like to hear samples before choosing if she doesn't already offer advice on that. I immediately switched her off when she was added lol.
I found the perfect example yesterday of music I don't think I've ever sampled and that was Cottagecore. I always think of myself as a font of musical knowledge as I like most genres (except Jazz and banjos lol) and I found I really loved Cottagecore much to my amazement! Now my Sim has it on all the time...I just wish I could stop them randomly stopping what they are doing to sing and dance to it!

My sims enjoy dancing to the music when they hear it being played also @simsplayer818 🙂 It happens with all the different ages of sims.
