Suggestions to Enhance Realism and Coherence in The Sims 4
Hello Sim Gurus and fellow Simmers,
I’m writing to share some thoughts on how we could further enhance the realism and depth of The Sims 4 in future updates. As someone who enjoys the immersive experience of The Sims 3, I believe that certain elements from its gameplay could significantly improve The Sims 4.
One key area is the coherence in the Sims’ actions. In The Sims 3, Sims live relatively authentic lives — they sleep at night, go to work, and engage in meaningful activities. Their actions feel more deliberate and true to their personalities. For instance, if a Sim is working, they’ll inform you they can’t participate in an event, making the experience feel more immersive. In contrast, in The Sims 4, Sims sometimes act without regard to their responsibilities, such as skipping work or school to go on a spontaneous outing. It would be amazing if The Sims 4 could bring back this level of realism, where Sims’ actions make more sense within their routines.
Also, the community Sims in The Sims 3 seem to fit naturally into their homes, with stories and personalities that make sense. In The Sims 4, I often feel that community Sims are randomly placed without any real backstory or connection to their environment. A little more depth here could go a long way in making the world feel more alive and believable. Finally, the authenticity in the everyday life of Sims is something I really miss in The Sims 4. While I appreciate the more detailed creations and open-world interactions, the spontaneous and realistic events that occur in The Sims 3 — like family activities or even uninvited guests showing up at a wedding — made the experience feel more genuine.
I truly believe that these small improvements would bring The Sims 4 closer to being the ultimate life simulation game.
Thank you for considering these suggestions!
Best regards,
