I will always want to hope/strive for a better game; as I hope to strive for me to be better too. I do this by trying to always provide helpful feedback and wish list feedback. And I won't blow up/self-destruct if my specific idea(s) never come to fruition.
Otherwise, I do try to provide as much (or more) positive comments/feedback as I do negative. For example the EbN positive and negative threads, I always tried to post in the positive every time I had provided a negative. And even my negative had underlining positive notes as well.
I think what doesn't help, at least on the forums, is that many people come here as a last resort to their frustration—instead of looking for a community to post with other like minded players to start with. I don't know if that is just telling of the times or if the Sims community forums aren't as fun and friendly as they use to be—due to people just gathering on alternate social platforms.
Unfortunately as someone who has been here the entire time- way back on http://www.thesims.ea.com/ on the BBS (bulletin board system, it's what we called message boards before they were called message boards and way before they were called forums), the sims community has always been very vocally negative. I can remember specific usernames of people on the BBS in 2001 complaining about the game endlessly, and with the same unreasonable complaints people have today.
The happy players are just playing the game.
Oh, maybe I was too busy on the Creative Corner forums in Sims 3 to see the mass complaints. We had a great CC community and it was super active, I see in Sims 4's CC it is less of a roar than Sims 3's CC. I had a really great time back then—that is all I remember XD
I never commented in the forums back then until the final year. I was too busy posting in-game memories on my sims 3 page and competing in modeling competitions.
When Sims 4 was announced I think most if not all players were expecting it to be like Sims 3 on steroids...a lot of simmers were let down with the base game.
When the competitions left in 2014...I felt abandoned and resorted to posting in the Off-Topic section of the sims 3 forums.
Off-Topic transfered to the old sims 4 forums thankfully and I continued to post there.
Today we don't have an Off-Topic section or Sims Modeling section. Most the players that were in the modeling section of the Sims 3 forums left as soon as Sims 4 came out..
The same with world creators in sims 3...my favorite creators.
They all quit the forums and moved on.
Bug fixing is critical for the game and players to exist. I hope EA can fix the game enough to bring back amazing gamers.
I'm player not a creator and that's why I'm still here.
