The Sims 4 Really Needs a Music Expansion Pack

Hello everyone & The Sims Team! 👋

I’ve been playing The Sims for years, and it’s been amazing to see how the game has evolved over time. Packs like Cottage Living with its peaceful vibe, Life & Death with its emotional depth, or Businesses & Hobbies with all the freedom they bring — each of them made the game feel fresh in its own way. But there’s one idea that’s been stuck in my mind for quite a while: a music-themed expansion pack. And I’ve seen so many other Simmers talk about this too on social media. It’s clearly something a lot of people would love to see in the game.
Right now, Sims can play instruments, but the system feels a little basic. And in a game like The Sims, where storytelling is everything, music has the potential to be so much more.

Here’s what I imagine this kind of pack could offer:

A brand new music-inspired world: full of concert venues, music festivals, street performers, and music schools.

Active music careers: Rockstar, pop idol, music producer, or classical musician.

Band system: Form a group, rehearse, go on tour, face ups and downs, maybe even reunite after a break-up.

Solo + group balance: Sims should be able to play solo and be in multiple bands, just like the clubs system in Get Together.

Stage performances: Set up lighting, design your stage, and get real-time audience reactions.

Album creation: Write songs, design your album cover, and promote your music on Simstagram.

New instruments & interactions: Bass guitars, drums, violin, synths… and new animations like duets or small live gigs.

Fan system: As your Sim gets more popular, fans start showing up for selfies, give little gifts, or leave fun and heartfelt messages.

Music as a lifestyle: Jam sessions at home, backyard concerts, or writing songs based on your Sim’s emotions.

And if a pack like this ever happens, I’d absolutely love to see a collaboration with Wolf Alice for some of the in game music. Their songs would be such a great fit for this kind of atmosphere. 😊

  • Great ideas. I'd also add turning the base game entertainer career into semi-active so we can choose presentation jobs at bars, lounges, museums, nightclubs, etc.

Thanks :) totally agree giving the Entertainer career semi-active gigs would make things so much more immersive. Like booking bar shows or lounge nights that would be amazing
