  • Hi there @dan321fl. I'm on Xbox Series X myself, with the full game installed. I've had all kinds of technical problems over I think 4 or 5 different Xboxes. I've got loads of helpful tips from Xbox Support, I recommend the Xbox Support App (not to be confused with the Xbox App). I've also figured out a few things as I've been playing over the years and from the community and EA.

Firstly I keep my library mostly empty. Even the pre made lots are all deleted. I keep just a couple of things in there sometimes, right now it's totally blank. I never run more than 3 game saves, currently it's 2 and 1 of those is a backup. When my game starts to slow down and lag I know I need to check Other Households. Since adding For Rent I'm getting loads of new Townies generated, sometimes between 20 and 25 per day. When there are too many it really affects my game. So I clear some at the end of each day before I switch off. But the most important thing is to always clear the personal and household/build inventories of previous Sims and households, even fridges. Carrying all that extra stuff can really slow the game down and lead to crashing.

Regularly powercycling your Xbox can help a lot and so can clearing locally saved data from the console and then syncing up with the cloud again. If you haven't done that before just go to Sims 4 on the Xbox home screen (while the game is not running) using the menu button (3 lines) then manage game and add-ons>saved data. Pick the set of data next to your gamertag/username and select delete from console only. Then load the game and it will sync up with the cloud and retrieve your data. I have my console set up to do that every time I play.

I'm going to add the EA Troubleshooting Steps here for you too:

    Hope this helps.
