Not sure when this bug started happening, but when you have three or more fridges/mini fridges on a lot, the option to Cook is greyed out on stoves and ovens, and there will be an error saying "This lot has too many fridges for Sims to cook on this stove. Having 2 or fewer fridges on the lot will allow them to cook on stoves and ovens again."
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a recent new feature, but in the past I never had any issues with having more than two fridges on the lot. Like sometimes I built trailer parks or multi apartments on a single lot... this is going to ruin that kind of gameplay. 🙃
Tried with tabletop stoves and regular stoves and also with mini fridges, which apparently count the same as regular fridges.
I have all the packs, game is on the latest version (1.118.242.1030 DX11), and this is in a fresh new save where I have never used mods or CC. I'm on a desktop, Windows 11 Pro.
No. I don't know how I ended up in this thread. When I first posted I don't think anyone else had mentioned the fridge limit to my knowledge.
I also have this problem now. It didn't happen beforeand I am sure of this. You used to be able to play with 7 fridges if you wanted. EA please fix it.
this may not be much help but i'm running into the same issue. i don't use mods/cc at all so that's not the cause. clicking on the fridge to cook does seem to work fine (for now), tho idk why this feature was added
just lemme cook with my ten fridges jeez
Having the same issue! I saw it originally on my modded save, which occurred on a bussiness residential lot but i've since repaired my game (renamed the sims 4 folder in my electronic arts folder and started the game fresh), created a new household on a residential lot and put down 4 'the schmapple fridges' and when I go to the 'the Schmapple Oven', all cooking options are grayed out except bake, canning, and brew herbal remedy. My sim successfully made breadsticks, mushroom conserve, and sadness alleviation lotion. All the other cooking options are grayed out and say "This lot has too many fridges for sims to cook on this stove. Having 2 or fewer.... (see others pictures for full message)
Just got this too. Stoves are unsusable with this limitation but fridges are bugged because this new limitation is supposed to prevent stoves from being used if "too many" fridges are on the lot.
It makes no sense. Why on earth would the implement this???
I play on PS5 and I had this come up today but after I’d been playing for a couple of hours - the first couple of hours there was no issue then probably the 5th or 6th time I left the lot, when I came back it suddenly said I couldn’t cook on the stove because more than 2 fridges.
I'm experiencing the same problem and came here to see if somebody would know something about it. It's ruining my gameplay too. And another thing, I don't know why, but whem I click on one of the other fridges to my sim to have something to eat, he goes to another room, where the primary fridge is, instead of simply having the food from the fridge in front of him, or on the same floor as him. It's irritating AF!!! It's driving me crazy!!! haha 😅
I am experiencing the same issue, where I am being informed that I have too many fridges on my lot. I have been playing the same family for over a year, where one is a cook and has never had this issue before. Although I can click 'cook' on the fridge and my sim will cook the item in the oven, but cannot perform the same process when I click on a stove. This was working before the update, as I only updated my game on October 6, 2025.
This is playing without any mods/cc.
This is happening to me too and I only have one fridge on the lot! I do have retail displays to sell food items.
