Well…. I think this is it for me.

I’ve been playing the sims 4 since it came out in 2012. When it was a game they wanted to make multiplayer, a game where we didn’t have life stages for children, a game where it was literally a disaster from the start. However, I hung on. It grew to what it is now and even though I’ve had some great gameplay (mods needed of course) and now within the last 3-5 years, I’ve noticed a huge dip in quality control and respect for the players. This game feels like a cash grab. We have to deal with copy and paste items from previous packs into new packs, we rarely get anything revolutionary added to the game. It’s just the same thing one pack after the other and with seeing how we’re going to get another update on the 19th, I’m done. Not because they say they will “fix” some bugs but because it’s then going to break other mods that have taken us players days and weeks to wait for updates and then it’s just going to add in more bugs. I’m done. I think this game is disturbing and the people who are in charge over at EA, shame on you.

  • I refused to touch Sims 4 for so long. I gave it a chance around L&D as between RoM and L&D enough of the content I wanted appeared to be available in game. Bought most occult packs, CCSP, PSP and CoL.

It was meh... I had to get a skill lock mod just to play because the autonomy and skill gain of skills the disliked was and is still non-stop... EbN came out and I felt "ok this is even more geared to my playstyle" bought much more EPs. But still the bugs, bad autonomy and traits play so little a role to make a Sim unique was just so much I struggled. I bought AA mostly just for butterflies/entomology and Custom Venues. Custom Venues still glitchy and waiting for fixes—I burnt out and took a long break.

R&L drew me back in and to an extend Dynasty Skills/Ideals autonomy is helping Sim behave as they should unattended. But it isn't enough traits/autonomy just has to be overhauled/fixed, old pack features require more enable/disable toggles, fixes and updates.

In a weird way the game is starting to feel fleshed out and playable, but with old features needing updates or fixes, and is instead making new versions of the features (as many mentioned recycled content). This is like  Sims 4 best and worst at the same time for me, enough for me to keep playing, but at the cost of me highly criticizing the franchise more than ever...
