Why, after 12 years?
I'm a 64-year-old woman, that is a Sim addict. I've been playing Sims since its inception. it's been over 26 years (ish). Now, Sims 1 was amazing. It was new. Loved it. Sims 2 blew my mind. I could actually get up close to my sims. Sims 3....... Okay, let's just not look at the game to hard. The open world was great. But unless you had a new, fancy, computer with mega RAM, and the most updated technology, it lagged, or you would get to a night club, or downtown, and be the only sims there. Plus, let's not forget the pudding faces, ugh! But we had cars! We had cars in the Sims 2 that we could get into and build as a hobby. Remember that? We even had a helicopter!!! We had cars in the Sims 3, that we could actually see our Sim driving around in (okay, that was useless, but they were still cars). And then, they dangled the Sims 4 in our faces. It looked amazing. We thought, can you imagine the cars and things they'll give us in this new game? And.... No cars. The Sims 4 came out in 2014. 2014!!! It's been 12 years!! They announce a new EP, and I hold my breath, hoping they will finally give us a good EP. Maybe something like, Sims 4 "Come with Me" (as a sample), that would have our Sims going to that Granite Falls place that no one goes to, in RVs and campers. Maybe we'd have an airport that our Sims could fly to exotic places. Is it too much to ask for a bus station? Train station? CARS?!?!! No. No, they said. We're giving you the best EP to date. Death and Dying (huh?). How about an EP about fairies? Here's another about royalty. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm sure a lot of people have their niches and love those kinds of EPs. Everybody's got their something, right? But in those EPs somewhere. maybe along the fringes, the edges where no one could see, there could have been an update for cars. You gave us bikes, and Sulani gave us boats, and jet skis. I just think it would've been nice for my Sim to go to the airport, actually board a plane (maybe experience some turbulence, and get green-faced, or have a flight delay), and once they land in Sulani, have a lei placed around their necks, pick out a rental car, or get an Uber, to arrive at their resort (Thanks Adventure Awaits). We could've had new careers like a pilot, train conductor, flight attendant, check-in attendant, Uber driver. The possibilities are there. But no. EA in all of its grand imagination said no. No cars, or any modes of actual transportation after 12 years. Here's death, some fairies, and some palaces. Wonderful. Rant over.
