@willowwolf7 This is such a lovely idea! And it would make the woodworking so much more relevant and worth the effort! I use plenty of the skill items and functions from Eco Lifestyle for my Sims to create "their" unique place, but the produced furniture doesn't really do it for me because it's not proper wood. Chunky, self-made looking wooden furniture, like the tables from Outdoor Retreat, would be absolutely amazing. Maybe even with noticable differences in the quality, where the lower quality ones would be a lot rougher than the higher quality ones, and give Sims splinters. And as your skill level improved, you didn't have to make a whole new table/chair/whatever, you could just rework the one you already had (maybe even inherited through generations) and apply a better finish!
Building together, mentoring and whittling for kids are also brilliant additions to the idea, because so many activities are tech-based. It would make generational gameplay much more rewarding as well, because you could properly tell the story that the family literally had to build everything themselves, and they've kept the furniture for generations. Not to mention combining two skillsets -- man, I wish that skills could enhance each other and create something unique. So much more gameplay to explore!
