2nd Floor Won't Light Up

Hi, it's been 3.5 years since I played Sims 4 and I only played it super briefly before.

The 2nd floor of my house won't light up. I realised after making the walls that I had to turn the space into a 'room' using the 'flat' shape tools. I did this to the 2nd floor, then to the ground/1st floor. Prior to this I had made the roof. If I delete a single bit of wall, anywhere, on the 2nd floor, it fills with light. But as soon as I close it, it goes dark. What am I doing wrong? The 2nd floor has more windows than the ground/1st floor.

I've Googled this loads for the past 40 minutes and can't figure it out. Thanks.

  • The room lights up because it’s not a complete room, if that makes sense, because there is a wall missing. Once the space goes completely dark, that means it’s completely enclosed in walls. If it’s bright that means a wall is missing and sunlight can get in because it is not a complete room. You aren’t doing anything wrong.

  • The game is working as it is supposed to. When the room is created "closed off" then it will go dark. Add lights to make it bright again 🙂
