Can the new night light keep the monster away from your sim's toddler/children's beds?

@jordyou23 , @PipMenace , @simsplayer818 , and @gooochyeee , just like @jpkarlsen mentioned, some beds do prevent monsters (all double beds to my knowledge will prevent monsters, mostly because these types of beds are usually only used for teens and adults) as well as some single beds (mostly those that are not geared toward children). Not sure about bunk beds since I have long gotten into the habit of putting in the Coolala light right away, so I keep forgetting to test bunk beds! 🤭@jpkarlsen also mentioned that only some nightlights will work to keep monsters away, the primary one being the Cooalala The Defender Wall Light (base game) as seen below:But there are some other nightlights that will also keep monsters away, such as one of these two from Parenthood (not sure which one, and it might be both that work):The Regular ol' Night Light:And the Stary-Night Night Light:These are both very similar but I'm not sure which one works , or if both work. I tried testing which one works before typing this, but of course I could not trigger the monster to show up at all, even though I was using a bed that I know produces monsters🤦♀️🙃😅! I usually use the Coolala Defender because it is easier to find in the Build and Buy Mode catalog . If I find which one , or if both work, I will update you all. Or someone else might find out before I can report back. There might be other night lights that work as well, but I wouldn't know which ones. ( Also, the little night light that doubles as a toy called The Night Owl Toy Night Light does not work to scare off monsters! 😥)Also, the house that I used to take the pictures was made by @SheriGR , and was made recently in preparation for the upcoming update that gives us improved babies , so if you like what you see, download it on the Gallery! 😉

@simsplayer818 , yes I have heard about the problems console users are having with the latest patch!😭 I hope it is fixed soon! But it sounds as if your problem with the nightlights not working to prevent monsters existed before this latest patch. Is it just that one household in your save file that this happens to, or do any of your other Sims kids have this problem. That would suggest the problem is only with that lot. However, You could have a corrupted file, perhaps. 🤔 I know console players have only a few save slots, but can you check another save file (or create a new one) to see if the problem with the Coolala Defender light exists in those save files as well? Your use of fairylights in the kids rooms sounds lovely!

@simsplayer818 I'm so sorry about the difficulties you're having building on console! That sounds awful! I love to build, but if console BB is that hard to use I must admit, I think the only building I would be doing is small renovations to default homes and I would download the rest from the gallery. Ugg! Again, so sorry! ☹️

@jordyou23 hey there, which kit and item are you discussing?
To keep the monster away it's supposed to work if you spray under the bed at bedtime. I usually do it before and after they're tucked in. But I've found that some beds are just a magnet for monsters, the base game beds in particular. It also seems to be worse in certain houses. When it gets to be every night, I replace the child's bed with a double bed instead. I've never had a monster appear under a double bed.

@jordyou23 I've just been looking at the kit myself this weekend as other players have reported problems with it and asked for fixes on the overall appearance of some items.
I've still had the monsters appear with lights on in the room and looking at the pack info there wasn't a mention of any such effects.

@jpkarlsen It looks like the bathroom kit actually does have a “night light” item. But I doubt it keeps monsters away. Even the werewolf nightlight doesn’t (possibly a bug?) and they specifically called attention to that one saying it would in their pre-release livestream. The only light that’s every worked for me is the base game defender light.

I may have a bug in my game then as I've tried everything. I've also had some Sims that have had the monster appear under the bed 2 to 3 times in one night which seems excessive to me. I ended up using double beds instead and then, when I move to the next household to play I sometimes put the child's bed back in the room for design aesthetic purposes.

@simsplayer818 Oh right I was just wondering because it says that it's a night light. So I thought it may work the same way as the base game night light.

@jordyou23 None of the night lights work for me. I've just gone through all of the ones I use and I still get monsters. So I think I've identified a bug thanks to your thread. But I have been chatting to someone about this kit and I'm going to see if they can answer your question for you. I'll just link them to this thread and hope they can advise you.

@ I tested this and got no monster hhowever there maybe other factors as ive heard some beds stop it. And I never had it before
