Accidently Deleted Game in Sims 4

Hello! I play Sims 4 on my computer through Origin. Tonight I accidently deleted a game I have been working on the past two weeks. I have been tying to read online what to do to help and cant seem to figure it out. I found the saves folder in the EA folder on my computer. In that folder was a folder that said "scratch". I found a file titled "savegame" and ends in .sav. I moved this file to my "saves" and the scratch folder disappeared. I read online that I need "slot" files in order to find old games deleted. I do have "slot" files for my other saved game. The "save game" file has today's date and the time that itcwas deleted/ last dealt with. Is there a way to take this "save game" file and make it so that it is read? I would really like to find my game that I accidently deleted.

could you post a screenshot of your saves folder ?

Did you delete the save game ingame ?

Did you also check your trash if there's any slot_0000000x.save files ? (x being a random number)

    Hi!

I did delete the save game in game.  I thought it was a different family that I was deleting.  There is nothing in my recycle bin showing slot.  Here is my screenshot of the "saves" folder.  All the slots listed are old families and not the one that I deleted by accident.

The first one is from the scratch folder I assume ?

If so, try renaming that to slot_00000006.save and see if it does anything. I really don't know too much about the scratch folder, but it's wroth a try.

Hi! So I renamed the file. And it popped up into my "load game" area. However I'm not able to play it due to it saying "save slot corrupted, unable to load." Any ideas? I did copy and paste my original file to another folder in case I needed to.

Was that the only file that was in the scratch folder at the time ? It's possible that this is just not the complete save, hence it doesn't work. It was worth a try though.

Have you ever used oneDrive ? Maybe there's still a file in that folder if you're lucky ?

Otherwise, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do. Only option would be an older backup you maybe have somewhere and continue from there.

My advise: Save in circles. So have 3 or 4 save games for the same game so you have a backup if you accidentally delete one. Also make regular backups to an external drive. Especially before patches.

Thanks! I will try looking for it in oneDrive. There were other files in the scratch folder, but that was the only one that said save. The rest started with "zone". When I moved that save file into my "saves" folder, the scratch file disappeared on its own.
