Active sim changed into burglar outfit

I didn't get a notification, but my game locked me out of editing the lot/saving/going to manage worlds. After a bit of looking for this mystery burglar, my active sim changed into the burglar outfit and is now stuck in the role.

I am on a residential lot, I don't know if that changes things. He woke up to change into a burglar and I had to exit my game without saving. Tried calling the cops on him, but they didn't show up either.
