Ambrosia not making Sim younger bug

Do you have a burglar alarm and is it upgraded? Do the police come if you call them? 
When your sims eat the ambrosia or drink the potion, are they reset to the start of their current life span stage?

Yes, I do have a burglar alarm, and it is upgraded. However, the police do not respond at all, regardless of whether the alarm is present or not. Even when there is no burglar alarm, the police never show up when a burglary occurs 

When your sims eat the ambrosia or drink the potion, are they reset to the start of their current life span stage? 

No, nothing happens when my Sims consume Ambrosia or the Potion of Youth. They do not get younger or have their life stage reset. The potions seem to have no effect.

With the issue with the ambrosia and potion of youth, if you use mods/cc try moving your whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.

How many days until age up is the sim that’s eating the ambrosia?

I don't use any mods or custom content (CC). Even if they eat Ambrosia or drink the Potion of Youth, my Sims don't get younger

Repairing the game may help.

How many days until age up are they before they eat/drink it, and which lifestage are they in? Can you get a screenshot of the simology panel?
