I haven't updated my game since 1.62. I always wait to see what new bugs the updates come with. And lord. Major bugs right now not just with NAP for example from ECO but just from the update in june. So I guess I'll be waiting a long time cause EA isn't the best at fixing bugs fast. xD
You guys don't have problem with NAP, stealing, pets disappearing and sims cancelling what they are doing all the time?
@SisterGloomy Yeah there's nothing wrong with waiting a short while to get the Eco Lifestyle pack but it does add some pretty awesome new game-play, CAS, and build/buy items. Off-the-grid living is so much better now! I agree that the NAP system could use some tweaks in a future game patch but for now it can be controlled to an extent by disallowing NPC voting in your game options. Some of the NAPs are working just fine & with NPC voting disallowed my Sims get to pick which ones are active. There are also built-in cheats to instantly activate or repeal any NAPs that you do or do not want in your neighborhood. I also agree that there are definitely some bugs that need to be fixed & I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see some of that in the next game patch.

If the items in the pack would work, it would be a GREAT pack! Unfortunately I haven't found a single thing in the pack that actually works. The eco footprint is broken, the power generation objects are broken, the new billing system is broken, the NAPs are broken, the fabricator is broken, the juice maker is broken, the new planters are broken... and on and on.
If they can fix all these things, the pack would be awesome. Everyone should just hold off getting it until these things are fixed. Once they all are, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
But not until then.- Rachelharris316 years agoSeasoned Ace
I think I'll wait until Christmas to get eco living.

I agree that it works great with one family in the save. It's worse if you have two families and the other one is in a different neighborhood and you don't play this family often.
The player must understand how the green footprint works before he gets it for the whole district.
And these are very simple rules:1. Your house bills must earn you income, not losses.
2. A communal lot must have the status of a municipal garden. The option to change the purpose of this lot is only on the board that is exactly on this communal lot. This option will not be available on another board in your district or on your mailbox.
Unfortunately, if you play with two or more families when you start a new game, you must immediately enter the gameplay option and disable NPC voting, when choosing the world. This must be done before settling the sim on the plot.
In the end, if you can't win the vote, you can use "testingtrue on' cheat and Shift-click on the board, but I don't use it.Edit:
Power generator has an industrial footprint and you can't use it unless you want the neighborhood to have an industrial footprint. Every footprint whether green or industrial has its advantages and disadvantages
