@SadSimsShane Adding my 'Me Too' on this! I've never stored appliances anywhere but Household Inventory. To me it seems weird that you can drag it into some of those into Personal Inventory (or tell the Sim to do it), since you cannot use them directly from personal inventory (directing them to use them from their inventory or having them do so autonomously - like with the vacuum). So... it seems that if players are able to drag some of them to the personal inventory of their Sims, why not all small appliances? Or why not none of them, unless they are items they can autonomously use or be directed to use (such as a laptop, vacuum, bike, etc.)?
However, that all in mind, I put a storage chest on the floor and tried to drag appliances into it. Nope, that doesn't work. Perhaps adding something like a change in storage containers so these items can be added (like food and the refrigerator) for access to drag out stored items to the counter without entering build mode (for players like you that want that realism aspect of storing appliances and kitchen items like you would in a cupboard, and being to drag them out to the counter without entering build mode?
...Now that we're going down that thought path, wouldn't it be great if all cupboards, countertops, and islands could be used as storage for kitchen items that you're not currently using so you had the ability to open them in live mode and drag out appliances to the counter... like the functionality of the refrigerator? Or even a wish item further... if you could click an open counter via an active Sim and view the stored appliances that could be used on that countertop, then direct the Sim to fetch and use the appliance on this open countertop? 🤔 Hmmm....
Anyway, I think you have some nice points here, and it would be nice to see this issue pursued with some of these things in mind. 🙌
