@Chuliano731 Thanks, but I found an easier way through the Internet. Accessing the router was way over my head. The site I found said to go to the firewall and change rules. I followed the instructions and added rules for all the ports listed.
Amazingly, I think it worked. All day, I was tearing my hair out with all the "need connection" notices. Then, I reopened SIMS 4 and the gallery. Not only no "need connection" notices, but the large red "X" lines started disappearing after a few seconds.
Again, thanks for the advice.

I have straight up turned off my firewall, and the X's were gone. However, instead of showing the X's, no thumbnails even showed up, just a loading screen. Five seconds in to the loading screen, the dreaded "no internet connection" popped up again, despite a fully functional internet that is allowing me to post this right now. I am deeply annoyed an don't understand how it's happening to so many people without the issue being resolved.
