Bed claiming not working.

For any of the beds in my Sim's house, they won't share them. The two cases are both married couples with maxxed friendship and relationship. I've moved everything away from the bed and back and the root cause is that the beds are showing up as fully claimed. If I do it on mom, she says that's dad's bed. If I swap to dad, dad claims the bed belongs to mom and no amount of deleting the bed and placing it back is working. This is affecting every bed, every placement and no amount of assigning halves of a bed will fix it D: Send help!!
