Benefits of non-skill books ?

If i am not planning to join the writer career.

Besides having fun, fulfilling aspirations and getting certain moods, is there any other benefit from reading non-skill books ?

Or does it give my sim more stories to talk with other sims ?

No. Just as in real life they read books for fun.

Thanks, then i will sell all non-skill book and refill the shelf with skill-books instead, since sims love to read so much.
