[BY DESIGN] Filters for packs not working in the gallery

I know this sounds pretty pathetic but I only own the base game and Get to Work in TS4. When I go into the gallery I select only the packs I have in the Packs dropdown many on the left side of the sc...

    If I'm understanding the topic correctly, I believe this is by design.  The pack filters are intended to be inclusive rather than exclusive.  In other words, they will display any gallery items that include those packs, regardless of whether other, unselected packs are also included in the item.

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? MAC 1.58.63.1210
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? 4 expansions, 4 game packs and 4 stuff packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use the gallery with more than one DLC pack installed, but not all.
What happens when the bug occurs? In the Gallery, when choosing the Packs filter dropdown option called "Show Owned", the content listed as a result doesn't have any relevance to the packs you own. It lists pretty much any content because in my case, when I own 12 packs, it'll list any creation that contains just one thing from one of those packs, even if the creation also contains things from packs I don't own. What "Show Owned" does is tick all the boxes for packs you have in the filter option below, but ticking those boxes gives results that are "inclusive". Even if that inclusive behaviour could be by design, this behaviour can not be considered "Show Owned" in any useful form and has to be considered a bug.
What do you expect to see? Either "Show Owned" must be its own filter, or unticking pack boxes should "exclude" creations containing things from that pack.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

This is an old issue, but apparently there used to an "include unowned content" checkbox instead of the "Show Owned" dropdown option. The "Show Owned" dropdown option is buggy.

    @crinrict No, that's what the old discussion about the checkboxes tried to say. It could be by design if the all you could do was check and uncheck pack boxes. Then they could've by design gone for "inclusive" filter behaviour, useless as that might be.

    However there's a "Show Owned" option in a dropdown menu, and that option does nothing for content filtering that can be considered showing creations based on packs you own. So either that "Show Owned" should just be removed, or it should start showing content compatible with packs you own.

      For me this button does the following

      - It ticks all the stuff packs, the game packs and the ep I own while show all ticks everything and show base game ticks nothing.

      That doesn't change the behavior of the actual pack filter which (by design) is inclusive and not exclusive.

      Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you here but I do think it's the same issue cause the options does for me what I expect it to do: It ticks all packs I own- Does this not happen for you ? I own all packs so there might be an issue with that

      From your report I thought you meant the inclusive/exclusive issue.

      If it's about the drop down box not ticking your actually owned packs, then yes, that would be a different issue.

        @crinrict Well yes, the option does tick the boxes I own, but ticking the boxes doesn't give a result that the option suggests. The option says "Show Owned". How else can a filter option names "Show Owned" be interpreted other than filtering on content compatible with packs I own?

        I don't care if the option checks the correct boxes when the behaviour of checking the boxes doesn't do what the option suggests. The option needs to be removed or renamed, disconnected from ticking the boxes, or the filtering for ticking/unticking boxes needs reversed.

        In short "Show Owned" shouldn't be a filter unless it filters on owned content. That option name and its current behaviour cannot be by design, unless it's an insane designer.
