Just wanted to try out these scenarios for the first time and I couldn't make a fresh save for them..
It is definitely the welcome scenarios that are the problem. I find it trying myself (after playing sims 3 so long) not to be able to make a new world, alter my lots, and --only as a second step--, add households and begin playing. Most of the scenarios are fun. A couple are tricky, and I still enjoy the challenges.
The Welcome scenarios are a pain to deal with, because I have to make a new game with a random sim, load the file, delete the initial household, save, and then go back to the start menu and begin the welcome scenario.
I hate deleting households, even randomly generated ones. I like to identify with the sims I play, and while I realize it is ridiculous to feel bad over removing unwanted data, this identifying with the sims is, I believe, part of the goal of the Sims(tm) series producers. The players should not have to be emotionally penalized to attempt something called a "welcome" scenario.
