Can change hairstyle, but not colour

I've just noticed that I cannot keep the hairstyle the same, but simply change the colour. Let me try to explain. Sometimes, when I'm feeling rather uncreative, I'll give a sim 5 versions of the same...

I thought this was normal, that the hair color changes on all the outfits, but not sure either. I'll give it a test.
